Calibrating the SV08’s bed starts on the knob screen, not in software. From the first-level menu, go to Levelling, then Calibrate Z offset. From there the process runs on its own: the machine heats the bed to 65°C, performs a reset, runs Z-axis calibration, heats the nozzle, and finishes by calibrating Z height. Sovol lists the whole sequence as taking about six minutes, which is a reasonable stretch to stand nearby and watch rather than walk away, especially the first few times you run it.
Because the routine is automatic, there isn’t much for you to do beyond starting it and making sure the bed and nozzle are clean before you begin. That said, automatic doesn’t mean foolproof. If the pass completes but the first layer still looks uneven, or the printer reports that heightmap values are all over the place, Sovol’s own troubleshooting index has an entry titled “The hotbed is not level or the heightmap values vary greatly” for exactly that situation. If instead the calibration pass won’t complete at all, throwing an error rather than just producing a bad result, the same troubleshooting library lists two more specific topics worth checking: “Probe triggered prior to movement” and “The Z axis probe is abnormal.” Both point to the probe rather than the bed surface, and having the exact title in hand makes it easier to find the right fix instead of guessing your way through a generic search.
Sovol has revised this firmware often, and some of those updates have targeted print quality and reliability, not just added features. It’s worth confirming you’re on the current version before spending much time chasing a calibration problem the latest release might have already fixed.
