Copy the complete four-group HMS code from the P1P’s screen or Bambu Handy before you clear or dismiss the alert, for example 0500-0300-0001-0002 for a toolhead malfunction or 0300-0200-0001-0003 for a nozzle heater over-temperature fault. Note the third group of the code: 0001 is an error that stops the print, 0002 is a warning that pauses it, and 0003 is informational. Also note whether the AMS was attached and loaded at the time, since AMS-related codes only apply when that unit is connected.

Bambu Lab’s P1 series wiki page states directly that the P1P shares the X1 series’ motion control and sensor set, so most HMS codes are documented on the X1 troubleshooting pages rather than under a separate P1P section. Search the code on wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/troubleshooting/hmscode/ using the exact four-group string. The P1 section of the wiki does carry its own dedicated pages for a handful of issues that are not shared with the X1, including the heatbed not heating up, AP-MC communication abnormality, the LED fill light, network binding, and Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection problems, so check that section first if the fault matches one of those descriptions rather than a numeric HMS code. A P1P does not have the Micro Lidar or AI camera that ships on the X1 Carbon, so any code tied to first-layer lidar inspection or the XCAM module does not apply to it, and the AMS Lite built for the A1 series is not compatible with a P1P either, so a P1P’s AMS-related codes come from the standard AMS unit, not AMS Lite.

Start with the simple, mechanical causes. For toolhead or motion controller codes, check that the tool head FPC cable is fully and correctly inserted, since a reversed or loose connector on the P1P can cause a short or an intermittent fault. For nozzle temperature codes, confirm the hotend silicone sleeve is seated and that the heater and NTC sensor plugs are pushed fully into the TH board, replugging the connector a few times if needed. For network or binding codes, move the printer closer to the router and confirm the Bambu Studio or Handy app stays open and in the foreground during binding.

Do not restart the printer repeatedly hoping a toolhead or motion error clears itself before checking the cable seating, since a loose FPC connector will keep producing the same code. Do not continue printing through a nozzle heater over-temperature warning, since the nozzle is very hot and the fault can indicate a failing heater or sensor. Always power off and disconnect the printer before touching a board or connector, and note that the MC-TH socket is directional. Inserting it backward can cause a power short rather than a simple bad connection.

If the code repeats after checking the cable connections and mechanical points above, open a support ticket through your Bambu Lab account with the full HMS code, the printer’s serial number, firmware version, and a photo or short video of the issue. State whether the AMS was connected when the fault occurred, since that tells support which module to test first.
