Look the message up on Elegoo’s own troubleshooting pages before you assume the Neptune 5 shares a list with another Neptune model. Elegoo has not published a separate Neptune 5 section there yet, so treat any Neptune 4 or 4 Pro fix you find as a starting point to test, not a confirmed match for your printer. Confirm the wording lines up exactly with what is on your screen before you apply a Neptune 4 series fix, because a partial match can send you chasing the wrong subsystem.
Once you have the exact text, check the simplest causes first. Klipper errors on Elegoo’s current Neptune line tend to be plain-language descriptions rather than numeric codes, examples from the Neptune 4 series include a stepper driver over-temp warning or an MCU reporting an ADC reading out of range, and most trace back to a loose connector, a disconnected thermistor, a firmware mismatch between the mainboard and the touchscreen, or a voltage selector switch set for the wrong region. Reseat the ribbon cables at the extruder and mainboard, confirm the touchscreen and mainboard firmware versions match, and check that nothing shifted loose during shipping before you suspect a hardware failure.
Do not flash firmware from a source other than Elegoo, and do not clear the error by editing configuration files you do not recognize. Klipper-based Elegoo printers can brick if firmware goes in through the wrong channel, and restarting without reading the message first can hide a real thermal or wiring fault that returns later, mid print.
