Quick diagnosis
Warping pulls corners upward as cooling layers contract. If the whole first layer slides without curling, start with the adhesion guide instead.
1. Restore consistent first-layer contact
Clean the cool plate, refresh the mesh and print a one-layer square that reaches the problem corner. Neighboring lines should touch without a rough, over-squashed surface.
2. Control drafts
Keep the printer away from doors, windows and air-conditioning vents. Use the printer profile’s reduced first-layer fan setting. ABS and ASA generally need an enclosure designed for the printer plus appropriate ventilation.
3. Check the bed temperature
Follow both the plate and filament guidance. Excess heat can keep lower layers soft, while too little reduces contact. For many PLA profiles, 55–60 °C is a useful test range, not a universal target.
4. Add a brim when geometry needs help
A 5–10 mm brim increases contact around narrow corners and a large footprint. It is easier to remove than a raft, but it cannot replace a clean plate or correct gap.
5. Reconsider orientation
Long thin parts build stress along their footprint. Rotating or splitting the model, rounding sharp corners, or adding designed adhesion tabs can reduce the force that a slicer-only change is trying to resist.
Warping checklist
- The lifting corner has even first-layer contact.
- The cool plate was cleaned correctly.
- No room draft crosses the build area.
- Bed temperature follows material and plate guidance.
- A brim is used only after the foundation checks pass.
