How the 5M Pro reports faults
Flashforge does not publish a fault list unique to the Adventurer 5M Pro. Its wiki carries one page, “Error code list for Adventurer 5M series,” that covers the base Adventurer 5M and the Pro together, plus a separate “Troubleshooting: Equipment Error Messages” page with four plain-text alerts that never got an E-number at all. On the printer itself you will see either format: a short line like “Host error. Please restart!” or an E-code with a description attached, such as E0042 Leveling sensor not triggered. Please check!. Everything below is drawn from those two Flashforge sources and cross-checked against the 5M Pro’s own FAQ and hardware troubleshooting pages.
Plain-text alerts without a code
Four messages on the 5M Pro never carry an E-number. Failed to Enable the Camera points to a loose or damaged camera connection; restart first, then check the cable at the connector shown in Flashforge’s guide, and replace the camera if the problem holds. Host Error, please Restart! is a catch-all for a communication breakdown between the mainboard and the rest of the electronics; restart, then check for a firmware update before assuming a hardware fault. The Printer Move out of Range means the actual XYZ position exceeded the printer’s travel limits, usually after a bad home; rehome and confirm the coordinates read 110, 110, 220 before repeating the operation. Level Probe Can Not Clear. Please Check the Level Probe means the strain gauges under the bed will not reset to zero; repeat the leveling step first, then check for a loose cable at the bed’s underside if it keeps failing.
Leveling and bed sensor faults
This is the largest group of numbered codes. E0041 Leveling sensor data cannot be cleared and E0042 Leveling sensor not triggered usually trace back to debris on the plate or nozzle, an extruder that was not fully reseated after a swap, or bed locking nuts torqued too tight. E0043 Leveling sensor triggered early points to something obstructing the bed as it rises. E0111 Abnormal leveling data and E0112 Leveling triggered early carry the same first check: clean the plate and nozzle, confirm the extruder is seated, and loosen the four bed nuts a turn or two if the bed cannot travel far enough. Run automatic leveling again after each fix before assuming a strain gauge or leveling PCB has failed.
Homing and motion faults
E0012, E0013 and E0014 cover X, Y and Z axis homing failures. Flashforge’s own notes list loose wiring hanging into the travel path, or an object blocking the sensor, as the first things to rule out, both on the printer’s own troubleshooting pages and in the E-code list itself. A clicking sound at the home position without the sensor triggering usually means the cable at the homing sensor or mainboard end has worked loose rather than the sensor being dead.
Heating and temperature faults
E0006 through E0009 cover the nozzle failing to reach or hold temperature, and E0046 through E0048 cover bed and extruder temperature control errors. E0122 Extruder temperature error and E0123 Heating bed temperature error are newer additions that point to the same things: a heating component not fully plugged in, or an open or shorted thermistor. In every case the first check is a loose cable, not a dead heater. Turn the printer off, reseat the extruder cable at both ends, and restart before ordering a replacement nozzle assembly or bed.
Camera, enclosure and filtration faults
This is where the Pro actually differs from the base 5M in hardware, and Flashforge’s spec sheet confirms it directly. The 5M Pro ships with a sealed enclosure, a dual-layer HEPA and activated carbon filter rated to capture 99 percent of particulates and VOCs, a built-in camera, and an automatic shutdown function, none of which the base Adventurer 5M includes as standard (the base model needs the optional enclosure and camera kits to add similar functionality, and it has no chamber filtration at all). The chamber and filtration-related codes on Flashforge’s shared error list, E0010 Chamber not heating as expected, E0077 Chamber heating timeout, E0078 and E0079 for left and right heating fan speed, E0080 for the air outlet temperature sensor, and E0083 Air filter fan speed too low or stopped, are the ones that map onto that sealed chamber and dual filter. A blocked air outlet or a fan with debris in it is the first thing to check on any of these before assuming the heater block or mainboard has failed. Camera faults, E0020 Real-time video service failure and E0021 Failed to enable the camera, apply because the camera is built in rather than optional on the Pro.
USB, storage and command faults
E0019 USB flash drive read error is almost always a format mismatch; reformat the drive to FAT32 before suspecting the display board. E0022 Insufficient storage space, E0028 File copy error, and E0029 Model download failed are usually solved by freeing space, waiting for the print interface to load before pulling a USB drive, or removing special characters from a model’s file name. E0017 Command exceeds queue limit means the print speed is outrunning the buffer; Flashforge’s fix is to cap overall speed at 50 percent or drop the slicing resolution rather than treat it as a hardware fault. E0116 through E0121 are internal logging errors tied to unstable hardware connections or slicer settings like arc fitting generating too many tiny line segments; reconnecting the extruder board cable and disabling arc fitting are the first things to try.
Codes unlikely to appear on a stock 5M Pro
Flashforge’s “Adventurer 5M series” error page and its AD5X error page share large sections of text almost word for word, which is worth flagging rather than treating as gospel for this printer. E0088, which reports non-official PEI plates, E0089, described as a laser radar first-layer scan, and the E0100 through E0114 range covering IFS filament channel feeding, retracting and homing faults, all describe hardware built for the AD5X’s automatic multi-material station. Nothing on Flashforge’s own Adventurer 5M Pro specification page lists an IFS station or a laser radar or LiDAR module, and no accessory for either is sold for the 5M or 5M Pro. These codes appear to be inherited from a shared documentation template rather than describing anything present on a standard 5M Pro unit, and a 5M Pro owner is very unlikely to ever see them on the screen.
