At this price it is a reasonable way to find out whether jewelry printing is a hobby worth sticking with before spending more.
Anycubic Photon Mono M7 Pro, finer pixels and a bigger vat
Anycubic’s current mid-range model lists at $562 (list price $769) and pairs a 10.1-inch, 14K monochrome LCD with a 16.8 x 24.8-micron XY resolution, finer than the Mars 5 Ultra in the X axis specifically. The build volume runs 223 x 126 x 230mm, big enough to batch several casting trees or a full set of matching pieces in one run. It ships leveling-free with automatic resin refill and a dynamic-temperature vat, which matters more for jewelry than it sounds, since cold resin prints thinner, more fragile prongs. The older M5s in the same family is worth knowing about too, since it still turns up on other retail sites even though Anycubic’s own store has moved on to the M7 line.
Formlabs Form 4, the closed ecosystem professionals use
The Form 4 Basic Package runs $2,625 for the printer alone, well past hobbyist territory, and its 50-micron pixel size actually looks coarser on paper than either LCD printer above. The difference is the print engine: Form 4 uses laser-based Low Force Display technology rather than a masking LCD, with a rated XY tolerance of plus or minus 0.15 percent. Formlabs also sells True Cast Resin at $199, rated to 0.03 percent ash and better suited to heavier pieces up to 5mm thick, though both only run on Form 3 and Form 4 printers. For an Elegoo or Anycubic machine, Siraya Tech Cast sells for $62.12 per kilogram (list price $73.95, also sold in 0.5kg bottles), comes in three wax-content formulas between 16 and 24 percent, and Siraya Tech publishes print profiles specifically for Elegoo and Anycubic hardware. Monocure3D’s BurnAway, an Australian-made, wax-free formula priced at AUD $110 per half kilo, claims virtually no ash residue on its product page, though not every manufacturer publishes a tested percentage the way Formlabs does, so it is worth asking a caster who has actually run a given resin through a kiln before trusting the label alone.
